Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Why some pages still show September 25
Capcom announced September 25 on June 3, 2026. On July 2, Capcom published a newer notice moving the launch forward to Friday, September 4. Older store caches, press posts, and search snippets may still display the first date.
When two official pages conflict, the later dated update controls this guide. The September 25 announcement remains useful as a historical source for the Demo and platform list, but not as the current launch date.
Release-date timeline
- Launch and Demo announcement
Capcom announced a September 25 release and released the public Demo on console, with the Windows Demo scheduled shortly after.
- Release moved forward
Capcom changed the worldwide date to September 4 and revised the digital pre-order bonus window.
- Current launch date
This is the date this page treats as current until Capcom publishes another dated change.
Confirmed platforms
| Platform | Status | Useful detail |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Confirmed | PS5 version; DualSense features and PS5 Pro enhancement are listed on the US PlayStation page. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Confirmed | Xbox's listing also includes Xbox Play Anywhere and a Windows PC version. |
| PC | Confirmed | Steam lists Windows 11, DirectX 12, 50 GB storage, and an SSD requirement. |
What is not confirmed here
This guide does not list a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch version because the current Capcom product details used for this page name PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A future platform announcement would need its own dated official source.
Regional date and store caveat
Storefront display dates can vary with region, language, time zone, or cached metadata. Use the September 4 Capcom announcement for launch planning, then confirm the unlock time in your own platform account closer to release. We do not yet publish a countdown to a precise hour because Capcom's update specifies the day, not one universal unlock time.
